The Brain for Children

Why gray cells are sometimes pink

It's not a good idea to have scientists explain the brain to children on their own. That's why brain researcher Michael Madeja enlisted the help of two nerve cells: Purki and Pyra. The three of them answer questions from children. Of course, questions like "What does a nerve cell look like?" – Spoiler: In a whale, it could be 25 meters long – "Do nerve cells roll around in your head?" or "How many brain convolutions does a fly have?" It's not always orderly; Purki and Pyra chat, argue, or ask cheeky questions.

"Why gray cells are sometimes pink. Exciting questions and answers about your brain" is the title of this children's book – and we have exclusive permission to use 20 of the 60 questions here.

We hope you enjoy them and would like to express our sincere thanks to Tessloff Verlag!
